Here are four stories that help signal the end of the world is near:
-
There's the story about
a guy who attends and works at a university in Indianapolis (IUPUI). He was reading a book from the schol library about how Notre Dame fought racism by running off the KKK in the 1920s. A coworker saw him reading the book and was offended. Yes, the person was offended by his anti-racism book.
The school's affermative action officer investigated the accusations and concluded, "You used extremely poor judgment by insisting on openly reading this book related to a historically and racially abhorrent subject in the presence of your black coworkers." She later went on to say, "We conclude that your conduct constitutes racial harrassment."

There's the story about
shop owners in Montreal. They have been told that they are in violation of the law if they sweep or otherwise clean up the sidewalks in front of their shops. Why? Because that's a union job, and the city has an agreement with the sidewalk cleaner union. This is the same union who, according to a 2006 Montreal city investigation, required 10 workers to fill nine potholes over a three-day span.

There's the story about the
girl in England arrested for racism. Apparently, in England, being racist is a crime. Well this girl was told to sit with a group of Asian students at school, but she said she didn't want to because the students didn't speak English.
She said to her teacher, "I'm not being funny, but can I change groups because I can't understand them?" The teacher responded by calling the police.

This is the best of all. There's a story about
these women who have to struggle to get by on "a $637 Social Security check and $102 in food stamps." The title of the article is "
For some Ohioans, Even Meat Is Out of Reach."
Seriously! Read the article, it's unbelievable! I couldn't make this up if I tried. Only in America would there be an article about how these two behemoths can't afford food. Is there any doubt now as to why we are the laughing stock of the world? These people can't afford food? I don't even know what to say.
